Ramanujan is a peculiar type of genius.
His story is that of math, inspiration, intuition, and institutions (ironically).
He was able – against all odds – to move towards his inspiration and to create a lasting and amazing legacy in mathematics. Surprisingly, much of this was attributed (by him) to direct divine inspiration.
Ramanujan’s journey can teach us amazing insights about the nature of intuition, the integration of beauty and truth, and the way in which things happen in the world.
